Development Experience

My first web site was an online tutorial for a gopher server in the UGA Department of English. That was in 1995.
By 1999, I was the lead developer for the corporate intranet at Athens Regional Medical Center implementing technologies such as ColdFusion, PHP, Javascript and CSS. With over 4,000 users and millions of page views each month, the intranet served business and clinical needs.

Database Experience

As a curious person I am always eager to learn. As a DBA this means I have researched more cutting-edge technologies such as CouchDB and H2. The right tool for the job can be the difference between long-term success and instant struggles to keep up. At Acuity Brands, I was responsible for migrating a large corporate database from Oracle to SQL Server using replication.
