Soup

Anyone who has spent more than five minutes in the world of IT has realized that we live in a world of alphabet soup. Filename extensions are just the start – from .asp to .zip. Then there are protocols like TCP/IP, HTTP and FTP. There’s an abbreviation for nearly everything and if the abbreviation doesn’t slow you down, the names of the technologies should. Fedora is not just a style of hat. Flash is not just a comic book character.
For this post, I have decided to spill a little of my alphatbet soup to show the scope of my experience. This list includes tools and technologies that I have decades of experience in as well as items that I have dabbled with just for fun. Like most dishes, you shouldn’t include every ingredient you have in the kitchen. So, I have left out items like office suites, desktop databases and a vast array of Linux commands so that you can taste the flavor of my soup, Experienced Web Developer.
Enjoy!
